Comments: The biggest movie franchise of recent years by far. Truly inspired casting when Johnny Depp was given the role of "Captain" Jack Sparrow. Despite a strong supporting cast Depp absolutely steals the show in a role that he has made his own. Based upon a Disneyland ride (the last that actually had creative influence by Walt Disney) "Pirates" is a hugely enjoyable romp that continues the Jerry Bruckheimer blockbuster tradition.
