Comments: The 20th movie in the Bond franchise & surely the most over the top. Everything that was succesful in the prevoious 19 films was incorporated here & just didn't really work. Which was a shame for Pierce Brosnan as in his 4th outing as 007, James Bond it looked like he was really hitting his stride. Some great set pieces, notably the pre-title surfing sequence & as for Bond not being gritty enough or showing his vulnerability, try taking another look at his brutal treatment & torture in the opening titles. Pierce takes much more of a hammering than Daniel Craig ever did in Casino Royale.
