Comments: In my opinion, this is Ray Harryhausen's best film. I think most movie fans prefer "Jason and the Argonauts" but I prefer this film. I think the Medusa scene is not only the greatest scene in the film, but one of the greatest scenes ever in a fantasy film. There are many great things about this film. It has a great cast (who better to play Zeus than Sir Laurence Olivier?) great scenery, great musical score and a whole collection of Ray Harryhausen creatures. I thinks it's a much underrated film, and the argument could be made that this film helped pave the way for today's fantasy films. In any case this is a classic film of the fantasy genre.
